Community Fund: May Update
Just checking in to give an update, after receiving a tip from a photography client!
They sent a $50 tip, which brings us to $250/$500. We are halfway to offering my services free of charge to a mom in my local community here in Utah County, my friends!
If you saw my initial announcement about this community fund over on my Instagram, but you haven’t checked out the April update, the short story is that not only are these funds paying it forward to a mom in my local community, but they’re also allowing me to financially support organizations that provide healthcare services in areas hardest hit by the maternal mortality crisis.
I have been donating a little here and there to Partners In Health for a few years now, in their efforts to build the Maternal Center of Excellence in Sierra Leone which should be fully operational later this year!! This work means a lot to me in my personal life, so it feels right to make it part of my business as well; last month, we donated to Ujima Maternity Network in Arkansas, and Birth Sanctuary Gainesville in Alabama - two grassroots providers working hard to reduce maternal mortality in two states severely impacted by limited access to maternal healthcare.
Next up may be another donation to Partners In Health for the MCOE fund again, but if you know of another organization that I should consider donating to, please pass along your recommendations!
Thank you,
Jordan
