Birth Photography
My birth photography service includes virtual consultation if desired, a comprehensive text discussion about your birth history, birth plans/wishes, and any relevant comfort levels, preferences, and boundaries that were expressed in your Consent form to make sure we’re on the same page about what you can expect when you hire me as part of your trusted birth team. You’ll let me know when it’s baby day, and I’ll do everything I can to be there!
Sometimes plans change, and instead of photographing a birth, I’m photographing a Fresh 48 session after a c-section or precipitous labor. You can expect to have some preview images texted to you within a few hours, which are great for sending announcement messages to your loved ones. I’ll spend about 3-5 full 12+ hour days working on longer birth and postpartum albums, and Fresh 48 sessions where I wasn’t present for the birth typically take me about 2-3 days.
I do my best to work with the lighting conditions and circumstances we’re given to deliver 30+ edited images, but I’ve sent albums with 80-100+ photos for the longer births that gave us more to work with.
Fuel costs are included for births within 30 minutes of Provo. For sessions up to an hour away from Provo, please add a $50 travel fee to cover travel expenses including a meal. If you live further than an hour away, I’m happy to discuss my travel fee on a case-by-case basis
“Do you accept tips?”
Tips are welcome, but not certainly expected - I appreciate your kindness and generosity! I set aside 100% of my business tips in a Community Fund so we can pay it forward to other moms who totally deserve this service, but don’t quite have the budget for it. When enough has been raised to cover my minimum costs for a birth, I’ll seek a client nomination through one of the many trusted local birth workers I know, and everyone who contributed to make that happen for her will receive a handwritten thank you note & a photo print from her birth, to express our appreciation! It may take a few months to raise the funds for it, and another few weeks or months after that for the nominated birth client’s due date. Thank you so much!
